Previous Positions Held: served her articles at Brian Kahn Inc and became a Director in 1996 where she continued to work for 21 years having resigned to commence practice for her own account since November 2011. Fiona commands a market-leading reputation built over 25 years of practice.
Fiona has acted in various high-profile divorces which involved complex financial and tax issues, disposal of assets, commercial entities and piercing of local and offshore Trusts. She has acted for unmarried fathers to gain custody / residency of children. She was the attorney in two reported High Court cases, SENIOR v SENIOR and REEDER v SOFTLINE.
Fiona has published numerous articles in various publications on family law matters including Mamas and Papas and in TaxTalk.
Fiona is a member of the Legal Practice Council and Gauteng Family Law Forum.
Fiona is also a accredited mediator having received her accreditation through the London School of Mediation.
On a personal note, Fiona loves the outdoors and nature and has a keen interest in martial arts, having obtained her black belt in the mixed martial arts of Muay Thai and Kickboxing.
Although Heather has a strong litigation background, and still continues to litigate on behalf of clients in civil and criminal matters, Heather’s core focus for the past thirteen years has been in the field of Trust Law, Trust Administration and Tax Law. Heather is also a registered Tax Practitioner and renders tax advice to clients, including the drafting of formal tax opinions, tax structuring, and the resolution of disputes with SARS. Heather is also an avid public speaker and has presented many public lectures and seminars, country wide, together with on-line Webinar training and lecturing, addressing audiences on a variety of topics including Trusts, Trust Administration and Tax Law. Heather has written various articles for several publications and more specifically for the TaxTalk Magazine.
Heather is also a accredited mediator having received her accreditation through the London School of Mediation.
When not advising on legal matters, Heather’s other passion is to be in the kitchen, cooking for, and entertaining, family and friends. Heather took this passion to the next level by qualifying as a Chef in 2018 at the Prue Leith Chef’s Academy. Heather also loves the outdoors, reading, and travelling
